Nathan Boyd

Nathan commenced at the Bar in 2018.

Nathan practises in a broad range of public law, administrative, criminal, civil, disciplinary and regulatory (including WHS) matters. 

Nathan regularly appears on behalf of the State of Queensland in native title matters, and the Queensland Director of Public Prosecutions in the Supreme and District Courts. He has also been briefed by the Australian Federal Police and the Commonwealth Attorney-General.

Nathan is regularly engaged by mining and construction companies to advise and appear in relation to litigation arising from site accidents; including defending prosecutions, appearing at inquiries, appearing at coronial inquests and defending disciplinary actions.

Nathan’s criminal practice has a particular concentration on complex white collar crime and corruption, including associated civil penalty and proceeds of crime proceedings. 

Nathan has a broad practice across all areas of professional discipline, including acting for lawyers, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists and architects. This extends to appearing in criminal proceedings arising from professional complaints.

Nathan was Chairman of the Brisbane Juniors AFL Tribunal and is currently a sitting member of the AFL Queensland judiciary.

Nathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Queensland.
